Established in 1992, Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, Inc. is a wholesale container nursery growing mainly one gallon perennials including tender perennials, ferns, grasses, shrubs, and vines. Their market serves landscapers and retailers in the Chicagoland area. They propagate around 80% of their own material, roughly 1/3 by seed, 1/3 by cuttings, and 1/3 by division. Currently they list over 900 varieties.

Their farm sits on 23 acres along the Illinois/Wisconsin border. One of those acres is dedicated to propagation, with field beds totaling 11,000 square feet for plug production.
