Rudbeckia

'American Gold Rush'

hybrida

PP#28,498

One of my best plants! Naturally compact, it has a nice rounded habit and heavy bloom. Three-inch flowers have golden yellow petals that arch gently downward. Foliage is thinner and hairy giving this plant excellent resistance to septoria, the fungus that affects 'Goldsturm'. Well-drained soil is best.

Fine thin hairs on the foliage keep spores from settling on the leaf tissues so 'American Gold Rush' can be grown in regions affected by the septoria blight. If you liked the stands of black-eyed Susan you had with 'Goldsturm', come back to 'American Gold Rush'.
