Bushy, vigorous plants on the shorter side of little bluestem grow 24 to 30 inches tall. Spring color is gray and green, quickly deepening and turning to the red side in mid-to-late summer. Strongly basal foliage with thin wiry stems changes from green to silver to red by fall. An exciting addition to the short end of grasses. Full sun; most any soil but wet.
