This tender perennial has limey yellow foliage that smells like pineapple and looks good all year. If kept from frost, shrubby plants bloom scarlet red at the end of October, in striking contrast to the leaves. Pineapple sage prefers well-drained to moist or even wet soil.

Plant plug liners in early spring to summer.  Pinch once.
