Burgundy foliage emerges in spring quickly followed in June by three to four-foot burgundy red stems holding loose clusters of purple-pink flowers. An irresistible combination judging from the guest reactions when we had it blooming near the office. The hummingbirds also had a taste and find it appealing. Prefers full sun and well-drained to rich soil.

Basal cuttings can be done in March/April.  Divide in August/September.  Pot a 70 to 2 1/2” or larger liner in September for May—June sales.
