Andropogon

'Blackhawks'

gerardii

PP#27,949

Darker green foliage takes on a deep purple background in midsummer, intensifying to dark purple and near black in some parts of the plant. Upright five foot tall plus plants stand out in the landscape, especially with other tall grasses. Full sun; average soil.

Andropogon 'Blackhawks' becomes nearly black by the end of summer. Our other cultivars show bright reds, bronzes, oranges, or a silvery highlight.
